Have you ever noticed how children with special needs in the community are often overlooked and have very few outlets of their own to express creativity and have fun with their peers? In order to help fill this needed community outlet, Middle Tennessee Children's Theatre has become a proud chapter of the Penguin Project. The Penguin Project is a national organization that was created to bring the theater experience to the special needs community. Each year these children are paired with a neurotypical peer mentor to take to the stage and perform in a Broadway Jr. Musical. Sets, costumes, venue rental, and sound equipment are all needed to create a very real experience for these young artists. These items can be costly and many of the parents do not have the means to pay for all of this on top of the specialized care that is required for their child.
We are asking for your help. As a member of the business community, you’re an important part of Middle Tennessee. You no doubt understand the pressing need for activities that promote inclusion and social interaction among youth in our area. At Middle Tennessee Children’s Theater, our efforts to provide a safe, fun, and inclusive space can’t take effect unless we have the support of everyone in our community.
I’d love to invite you to team up with us to help make a difference! I‘m writing to ask you to join us as we raise funds for an inclusive theater experience. In addition to our special needs theater program, we provide arts activities for all children in our community. By donating, you will be able to assist us with providing all youth in Middle Tennessee with a positive theatrical experience.
Sponsorships of $500 or more will receive an ad space on our website, social media, and performance programs for a full year. You can donate directly through our links on the website through paypal or venmo. https://www.middle-tennessee-childrens-theatre.com/
If you would like to sit down and have a discussion about donating time, money, or services, you can contact me directly at 615-584-4684 or email me at jstorvik@mtctheatre.com. We can also talk about how Middle Tennessee Children’s Theatre can share your involvement with our community.
I hope to hear from you soon so we can discuss a partnership and we can work together to make a difference in our community.
Sincerely,
Jamie Storvik
